Ba145 β− decay: Excited states and half-lives in neutron-rich La145

چکیده
Background: Neutron-rich nuclei in the $\mathrm{A}\ensuremath{\approx}140--160$ mass region provide valuable information on nuclear structure such as quadrupole- and octupole-shape coexistence evolution of collectivity. These have also a engineering interest because they contribute to total decay heat after fission burst. The concerning $^{145}\mathrm{La}$ is very limited.Purpose: study low-spin states will more detailed level scheme enable determination half-lives excited states. Methods: Low-spin been investigated from $^{145}\mathrm{Ba}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\ensuremath{\beta}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decay. $^{145}\mathrm{Ba}$ were directly produced by photofission ALTO facility or obtained ${\ensuremath{\beta}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ $^{145}\mathrm{Cs}$ photofission. Gamma spectroscopy fast-timing techniques used. Results: A new was proposed including 67 levels up about 3 MeV 164 transitions. Half-lives few-nanosecond range measured for first states. Configurations $\ensuremath{\approx}600$ keV discussed. Conclusions: available has modified considerably extended. analysis properties states, excitation energies, modes, log $\mathit{\text{ft}}$ values, reduced transition probabilities, Weisskopf hindrance factors, enabled identification members bands corresponding ${g}_{7/2},$ ${d}_{5/2},$ ${h}_{11/2}$ proton configurations.

β-decay half-lives of heavy neutron-rich nuclei in the N≈126 region
The astrophysical r-process is responsible for the synthesis of approximately half of the heavy nuclei in the Universe. One of the main problems we have to overcome to fully understand the observed r-process abundances is the lack of information on the nuclei participating in this process, in particular for the heaviest ones. The production of heavy neutron-rich nuclei in the laboratory has bee...

متن کاملNoncharacteristic half-lives in radioactive decay.
Half-lives of radionuclides span more than 50 orders of magnitude. We characterize the probability distribution of this broad-range data set at the same time that we explore a method for fitting power laws and testing goodness-of-fit. It is found that the procedure proposed recently by Clauset et al. [SIAM Rev. 51, 661 (2009)] does not perform well as it rejects the power-law hypothesis even fo...
